Helsinki, Finland’s capital city, has invested €4.8 million to build public charging stations over the last three years, nearly tripling the number of such charging points in the country. Additionally, the Finnish Government has recently announced a €5.5 million budget to increase charging infrastructure in 2020-2021.
The project proponents have confirmed that the construction works will start in March 2025. The project, which is one of the largest of its kind in Finland, will provide grid services including frequency response and will be able to participate in energy trading on wholesale power markets.
